For my Sis....

I believed this entry would gets a little more attention, especially to the female readers. Haha, think this would get better comments in comparison to all the items that i have bought?

A present my elder sis and i got for the youngest member of the family.
A Gift for her 21st Birthday.

Sadly, I cant really recall what i did on my 21st and what gift i actually received, so hopefully she can with this bag.

Digressing, Happy Birthday Petty!!! I believed you won't need any gift from me, because definitely, you will get something better from your "Someone"!! hope it is the Gucci you have been harping on ever since i know you!

Yoshida Porter

I finally owned my first Yoshida Porter pouch...all thanks to Ah Zhan who got it for me on his trip to Tokyo.

I can still remember how i first came across this brand. Alex was the first person that i knew carrying a porter pouch. I was amazed that the pouch could hold so much stuff yet look trendy and compact.

But then, Porter wasn't commonly found in Singapore or anywhere else except Japan, so he brought me to Bugis Village to get an imitation that sells for like $30. If you knew me long enough, i was always carrying this black pouch whenever i go...that is the fake porter pouch. Haha...

The only branch you can find Porter these days is at Wisma, Porter International and from what i know, it is made in Taiwan and you can't find those design in Japan. So bring one of the local Porter there and i bet people might start offering you a price for that design.
you might find some limited edition or Yoshida Porter from Japan at Cineleisure but definitely super expensive.

So here's mine, I think you can find a similar one at wisma but definitely not the waist pouch series. I am having breads for the whole month of October for this.

Clearing Leaves

I never knew clearing leave could be an exhaustive and headache thing. I know alot of people are complaining about their understated entitlement but for me, its the exact opposite.

okay i am not showing off my leave here, before you start calling me Hao Lian! Lol :P
I am really in a situation that i might have regretted storing a little too much.

Abit of the history about why i am so frugal about my leave.
Back in the NS days, It was so difficult to accumulate an Off day and applying leave goes through many levels. As such, unless i have plans, if not, i won't be applying any just to rest at home.
That goes the same when i was in DHL Express, where the biggest component for my salary are my incentives which is calculated based on KPI's performance.
Taking leave would means, a day less for me to be more efficient in collecting more debts.
And my leave entitlement are so little there.

But i think a major reason for me not taking any leave are due to my boring personal life..think i really need to spice them up a little!

JJ the Toy Poodle @ Xin's Place

Our gathering is arranged at Xin's Place this week.
Yah, it's a recreational place that has everything, located at Hougang Ave 6.

From Wii, Movies to food and drinks at affordable rates. The Shop Owner is extremely friendly. The concept mimics Settler's Cafe, however, adding abit of "Homely" ambience. No queues, no crowds and best of all, the owner is very considerate by only catering to 1 group each time, first come first serve basis where you wouldn't find 4 groups of people in the same place creating unnecessary noise.

The owner is a dog lover and so her pet, JJ, The Toy Poodle.

A bit of noise in these pics as i bump up my iso.

This puppy love to pose for pictures. Its so easy to get him to stay still.

Stealing the Lime Light

OH MY GOD…what is going on with my family? I mean my relatives…my cousin…these days they have been stealing a lot of lime light.

First, my uncle and aunty were on news last Friday on the successful “Kidney transplant between two different unrelated blood type”. The first operation in Singapore and a successful one which captures most headline.

And the mushy interview from them which I’ve gotten response from my colleagues that it was pretty touching.
Nonetheless, I have to salute my Uncle who is so brave and so loving towards his wife!

Next I was pretty shock when I spotted my cousin on the papers this morning while I fetch the straits time for LL. (OMG, luckily she didn’t ask me to make another cup of milo.)
He joined the reality tv show, “Biggest Loser”, apparently a show that portraits all the “heavy weight champions” plotting against each other and try to shed off as much pounds each week. From the picture, he was all smiling; I assumed he has been selected.
*Just a thought, how can a person for the past 20years not being able to shed off some excess weight suddenly able to do so in a reality drama??? ~scratch head~

I hope he is not reading this post of mine…but my best wishes to him as well.

Life is pretty boring for me these days…wonder if I should try get some lime light as well by walking around toa payoh and wait for some media corp street interviews! Haha

A day as a Male PA

It all started with a sms, the PA is on MC and the Covering PA is on study leave, so the “handsome” me was appointed as the Covering covering PA for CFO.

What do you expect me to say when CFO directly calls me on the phone and ask if I was the Covering?

Well and the funny part is that, I reached the office late and coincidentally, she was in the same lift as me, just the 2 of us in an awkward situation as I tried to hide my Mr Bean Soya milk from her sight.

Okay, I need to whine abit, although I know SY is on genuine MC, but the sms she sent me wasn’t clear and when I called and sms her, I couldn’t get her. Somehow I was just on my own and all the wrong things just happened. Making Milo, washing her cup, fetching her newspaper and all these makes me carry my egoistic self down to a pathetic level. This brings me unhappy memories back in the days when I first joined the organisation. Back then, I was hired as a finance officer who acts like a pantry aunty. Asking the old guys, if they would like to have coffee or tea, so if I were to try going for a air steward job, most probably these experiences could give me some head start.

It was only till noon after she left for a meeting, I get to relax and people started calling me PA here and there, it somehow doesn’t sound prestige to me even with the title CFO’s PA, I felt “…speechless…”, the kind of sight people threw upon me, there is nothing to gloat about in front of the consultant…it all sounds so familiar and now reading my blog earlier, I think I always did this to the rightful covering PA, mocking her doing all these duties…and finally I get a taste of it and the worse part, on the day when her mood isn’t too good to start with. Oh dear, when I brew the first cup of Milo, I knew it wasn’t going to be the last.

Haiz..noticed the blog title, I intentionally called it “MALE PA”, that’s because I felt like I am a girl doing the job. It’s definitely a lady job. No way am I going to do it again. Call me selfish but I am not going to cover again. I will just apply an urgent leave! Haha

A night stroll along Tanjong Rhu Footbridge

Picked my lazy bones and instead of going to the pre planned lower pierce walk, i chose a walk at Tanjong Rhu. Surrounded by private properties, this place is so cozy and so romantic.

Yes i know, i am so "sua ku" since this place was built so long ago and yet, it was my first time there.
I can explain. There was nothing there except a bridge and some pubs. A non drinker like me has no objective to be there.

None-the-less, the ambiance was excellent. People were walking their dogs and jogging. The place was so peaceful and across the bridge, people sipped their drinks and enjoy the night scenery.

The lightings were fantastic. The lights changes it's color every 1 minute.

IMG_0779_1

Capturing the footbridge was the hardest. There was so many traffic along this bridge which served it's purpose.
IMG_0785_1

There is a shot i like in the series and most probably will be submitting to the RBC committee for the Ben & Jerry 10x scoop of ice cream competition. Here it is..unless i get to go lower pierce...if not..should be using this.

That Fool/ Accidental Couple/ 6 Months

There are so many names given for this drama and in mandarin, they named it as 那个傻瓜.
Yes, another fairy tale drama which stars Kim Ah Joong 김아중. Previously acted in movie "200 Pound Beauty".

Synopsis:
Goo Dong-baek is an honest and good-hearted postman. One day he encounters with Han Ji Soo, a top celebrity. However, an ordinary man gets no chance to show his feeling to this top actress who everyone loves. Six months period of time with her elapses like a midsummer night’s dream. But he cannot just end up his love like a “dream”. Shouting out love! His love has just begun.

If you watched it, you will realised that handsome and rich isnt everything..haha...and like real such things will only happen in drama!

I am really hooked to this drama. Although a little mis matched of the couples, that is where all the fairy tales began. Kim Ah Joong is really a beauty. Try catch it!

A day of Morale Booster

It all happened with a silly Gtalk message to my boss, signalling how unmotivated I am in office that sparks off a series of counselling and talks. To be frank, I didn’t really want to express it out as I don’t see how it will make a difference.
Somehow, I just blurt out my thoughts. Well we had a long talk and so I discovered that I may be in an organisation that has limited career progression, but at least under a team that share concern and care.

Not getting too much into it, recently I discovered that my anticipation for my trip grows and surprisingly, not the China tour that I’ve signed up for but my plans to go on a solo backpacking Taiwan trip.
Yes a solo backpack experience is something I craved for..no doubt it may be a little lonely but you get to decide all your routes. When to go, when to rest, where to go, what to do.
Following a series of variety shows introducing the many parts of Taiwan, I am starting to plan my own journey. As I will be carrying over 18 days of leave this year, I hope I get a chance to fully clear them on this trip and try as much as to cover the majority of Taiwan.

Well, why Taiwan? Because the people are much friendly there and it’s easier to travel around the area especially when they speak your language.
I am actually making Taiwan my training ground as I prepared myself for other journey for places like Nepal, Tibet, Mongolia, China and ending my final back packing at Europe.

I think there are so much more in life than to just work and save…and live your life as many others do. Ideally, I should be going in Nov or Dec when weather is more cooling, but I doubt I can wait till then, so most probably rewarding myself after my financial year closes and I get my FAT FAT bonus next year. April!!! Looking forward to it!

After my own calculations and drawing of the map, with 18 days of leave, considering just a 2 days stay over in each destination, i cant cover much too. So i start choosing the few places i wanted to go to.

Plan A - Comfortable easy Taiwan back pack
I will be covering only specific places that i would like to visit and give up a few others in exchange for a comfortable pace. Sun Moon Lake and Alishan is given priority as well as Yi Lan. (Pardon me if i incorrectly stated where Yi Lan should be as i couldn't find it on most map.)

My initial plans was to end my trip at Taipei so planning to start from Kao hsiung but apparently most write up on the tour was from the direction of Taipei downwards. Heard the scenery from Hualian down to Tai tung was extremely nice on the train so might be changing the route of travelling to sun moon lake instead. The good thing for this plan is that i might get to Kenting if i have additional time upon reaching kao hsiung.

Plan B - A route march back pack
This should be intensive!!! I couldn't decide if i should give up either Tainan or Taitung but it is such a pity to give up visiting both site considering i am already there. Even stepping on the land itself is an experience. Or can someone who has been there giving me a tip on which is better? I tried to accommodate by giving up other places i never heard of like YunLin etc. Kenting isnt what i really want to visit as i heard its all beach there and so i don't mind sacrificing it.
I think i might have under rated the routes along the way by drawing lines on the map which in actual fact i should decide upon the transportation to each places before i link them up. As i am prepared to spend on travelling, if there is a choice over bus, trains and planes, i would very much love to try night train rides as i heard its much cheaper and i can sleep on the train.

Just by thinking, its already a morale boost for me...hopefully this dream will come true. Now is to read more...and i came upon some website that is pretty good. Just that i don know where these places are located.

How i spend my Monday leave

Woken up by mum’s action in the kitchen again this morning, when she tried her very best to keep the noise level low.
I just cannot understand why she needs to wash her clothes at 7am when the sun wasn’t even up yet.
Why the rush of wiping the plates and spoons in the early morning?
And finally when I was about to get back into my sleep, she woke me up to go market.

Yes, this is how I started my restless Monday. My plans today was to go Hort Park with Ms Anonymous, why Anonymous, because so happened that Ms Anonymous doesn’t want everyone to know who Anonymous was. Ermm, therefore I called her Anonymous. Somehow I felt this would draws up more attention.

Back to the topic,
My first attempt to Hort Park was with Elaine, we started off walking from Mount Faber and we never reached there. So this round, I decided to start from Hort Park.
Although I was hoping for a cooling weather, I didn’t really expect it to rain. Especially only when I reached the bus stop which was like 5 mins away to Hort Park and get myself stuck there.

Well thank god it was like a 10 mins of rain before it stops. Ops, or was it still drizzling, and we darted to shelter with just 1 umbrella. It wasn’t romantic at all, not with this kind of weather that tortured us. One minute raining, and the next minute so humid.

I think I am really cursed to visit this place. My battery went out when we were about to venture out of Hort Park. There goes my Henderson wave, Alexandra arc etc…
Just when I thought everything ends with Hort Park, while im cleaning my sensor back home, I think I messed it up and ended up with more dirt inside…and out of no where, there is a mini screw falling out from the camera body. Now I think I really need to send it back for servicing.

And I am super exhausted now which makes me feel like sleeping. No pictures tonight or maybe just 1.

Splendid Saturday at Esplanade

I need to make a trip down marina square to collect my winter jacket. The sky was gloomy and therefore cooling. Took this opportunity while I walked down esplanade and took some pictures there before I left for my own shopping!

Shopping wise, it wasn’t that much fun.
Zara’s staff has the worse service attitude. Which sales rep would pass you your reserved item and just walked away with no follow-up in payment.
Well, maybe I was dressed too shabbily in comparison with their working attire.
Maybe I looked like I am only reserving the jacket for fun.
Maybe I looked like the kind of customers would can hardly afford their stuff once in a year.

In comparison, Adidas staff shines. I spend almost half an hr there with a sales rep that is so attentive and patient with my purchases.
I initially wanted to just get a polo-t but ended up with many other purchases.

Yes I spent a lot yesterday but thankfully, I just received my credit card bills which showed that I do not need to stand in front of AXN this month to repent for what I did last month.
