Happy Birthday to PeTTy!!!!

To one of the most irritating, most annoying, most distUrbing girl!!!
7 years of friendship where the past 3 years was always emphasizing so much on Gucci than being contented for having such a great friend like me!!!

As much for being a mean, sarcastic and sorrowful person, she was kind by nature! She kept secrets well and being supportive(or consoling I mean) at times!

So wishing her happiness in the coming years and be more positive about things! (We don keep talking about negative things and hope hope hope things will turn out positive!!!)

HApPI BiRtHdAy MiSs P“R”eTty!!!
May your wishes comes true on this day!

P.S….The “R” is on loan for just today!!! haha

Ur GuCcI, i just chose the latest 08/09 winter fall design!!!! Claim it here! (Ctrl C for copying and Ctrl V for pasting)

A Night at DeMpSeY

A last minute decision to meet for a dinner before Miss Lainey flies off to Japan!!!
As she needs to check out a venue at Dempsey, we decided to give Tampanies a break and enjoy a "sort of" fine dinning experience at Dempsey.
Looking at my budget, i think there aren't much choices too. I remember camemberu intro this Jones the Grocer at Dempsey Hill and since its visible to us after checking out tippling club which by then, we were already starving, we decide to just have our dinner there!

It really look more like a english grocery store than a restaurant and guess who we met there!!! Miss Joanne Peh and her date!

The choice of dishes are quite limited and we had some difficulty in understanding the menu.
Ended up, we just call for some recommendations from the staff there.

Elaine showing me her iphone while waiting to be serve!

The so call, very famous burger which i can't recall the name of it. To be frank, it was one of the tastiest burger i ever had in a restaurant(eliminating away competition from fast food)

My seafood pasta, which i really can't appreciate it and was looking for some sauce to add on it but i was pretty afriad the chef would confront me if i did.

After we split the food...destroying the presentation of the dishes...

Can you spot joanne peh sitting far behind me?

Lainey mentioned that i cannot post any vivian chou's pic if she were to send me some...but she didnt mentioned anything about herself! So i assumed and the first time on my blog....a blurred pic!

To be frank, i ddin't really appreciate the food nor the ambience here. I just felt that our pockets received a thrashing from them. I could have gotten something more appetizing and quality at this price! Services from waiter wasn't a part of their potency. It was really a "hand raised and you will be noticed" kind of service attitude!

We had our dessert at Ben & Jerry!
And that is where we spotted Joanne Peh a 2nd time there.

Anyway, it was quite an experience there! The atmosphere is great and of course, thanks for the to and fro transport!!! All the best for your trip and I Hope it will be a fun one!

A Day full of Surprises!

Today was meant to be a short but busy DAY!!!! I am closing in towards the deadline but my progress seems so slow! For the third day in a row, my ass is glued to my very comfortable chair.
We are having our belated staff communication today and this would mean that i will have to finish as much as i can before 3pm. Anyway, since it is compulsory to attend, i can't skip it.

Alright, i knew there was a citation session in the agenda.
But I was quite surprise i received 1. And it came from SC.
Ermmm if you read my past blog, i did mentioned i received one from my Senior Manager. But that was because i was reporting to her then.

(A Pic of the first citation i received)

Surprise, partly because i received a 2nd piece of citation within the year and also it came from another manager of the other team...
Well of course it was not me alone that received a citation from her but many others, but it was quite touching on the words she used. I did felt a moment of blush while FC read out what she wrote.
I sms her at a later part as she was on a half day. Something she replied made me felt that sometimes, doing your own job and being truthfully to yourself will be felt by others.

The Annual report was finally out as well...and for a 2nd time i was "cordially" invited to model in it for free....haha...this was much better compared to my first encounter!!! Ermm....not sure if it was because of the photograph, the clarity, because there was 2 person in the picture or was it really me and cheryl so attractive that i got a full one page picture in the AR. lol....oppss or was it SQ who chose it? Anyway...it was good to leave something on the report that everyone read!! haha...i am always creating awareness for myself...just that it was a free publicity for myself this round!

I worked myself till 9pm today...halfway through, me and Fion had a small conversation...seems like today session was a fruitful one and some thoughts ran through my mind as well on this....I have finally reached a decision!
Oh ya...lala is back from taiwan..and she got me a v nice gift! Its hard to believe she is so nice! =P
And to everyone else that is reading this post! Have a wonderful long weekend!

LiBraRY...."FoR HEr OnLY?"

Ever since I finished the whole chronicles of Harry Potter, I wanted so much to find my next story book. To clarify, for those who always hear me talking about guys looking refined and sophisticated while reading a story book on bus or train, I am not reading for Image!!!! Of course, if it does, I don’t really mind =)

Today was a great day, I thought I would need to stay till 9pm and claim my first transport fee home from office for the year; I managed to clear all my tedious work within my working hours. Call me “Efficient” and “Effective” please!!!! PLEAASEE…before my boss starts to minus off points for the above 2 E’s tomorrow when she goes through!!! Haha

Since I get to leave unexpectedly on time today, I decided to hit by the Geylang East Library and get myself some story books!

My favourite corner!!! when I was in my secondary school days.
The Chinese WuXia Novel Section.

Nothing changes except the colour of the pages. The author of those books remain the same. This shows that after so many years, not even one writer managed to write something worthy enough to be on that shelf. Pathetic! If they could just put in the creativity in substituting melamine as protein….ops!!

I picked up this book along the way to the Fiction corner, but I placed it back. I can’t imagine how to get the real diet with so many temptations! Definitely not in Singapore!

Finally the Fiction corner!!!

I really need to be “NICE” in commenting this part (supposingly the very popular section of all). I always wonder how my sis managed to find so many “her kind of stories” and now I finally know why….
One glance through the title of the books, I thought they separated books based on new categories, “Male readers” and “Female readers”. So I went shelf by shelf looking for the “Male readers” corner. I couldn’t find it.

And on a second look, the books are categorise by author’s name. I tried again, this time more thorough in my search. These are what I saw…

And it was only then, I discovered that I seem to be the only guy lurking in this section. Trying to get myself away and with little choice, I decided to just streamline my search. Any books that are without the connotation of “LOVE”, I will just grab and check it out.
This was what I found after 10mins of browsing..I thought I am safe…Turning to the back, I really can’t believe my eyes. What the hell a macho roman soldier carrying a sword got to do with LOVE and relationship?

It was a very bad experience…I finally understand why most guys tend to have difficulties in their English language. Of course on second thoughts, It might be due to the reason that guys tend to lose the books too often or return the books with just too many missing pages. As a result, the Librarian decided to limit our choice rather than restrict our borrowings.
And if you spot a guy in this section, most probably it’s a “sister” seeking emotional comfort for “LOVE” that hardly comes “HIS” way!

And I did borrow a book in the end. Just 1 book which I skip the blurb...

Yeah Kiss "HER" Goodbye!!!! haha....and now i have an excuse for my lousy english!

FiNanCe

It seems like the past 1 year, i have really learned alot from both my company and my bosses. I always see new comers as a mentor and hopefully i can learn new things from them.
Staying in management accounting also equipped me with a general idea of how the Overall Company works. Noted here that the experiences are not limited to just one division but the whole Company.
Well of course, i am no expertise if to perform the task but in theory wise, i definitely have the necessary pictures! I met Nise yesterday and she was asking me about my work and we discuss slightly about the difference in the MA of their company and mine...i am really glad to say i had an edge compare to her side...the amount of work I am taking on, the experience as well as the knowledge in reporting…haha...

I would like to share some thoughts here.
The face off between learning and pricing seems to be a rather contradicting factor which many others especially those who are not in Finance couldn't understand.
Posing a choice here, would you sacrifice a slight pay cut or equivalent salary for a new experience in a new accounting portfolio? To many, the answer would be no. But to most accountants, analysts, the answer most probably would be base on the exposure and the eagerness and chance to explore into another area of accounting. The answer therefore most likely would be “Yes”. To clarify, we are not like asking for a 30% pay cut to take on a new role…but we are asking for a variance that does not differ too much. So next question posted would be, why so silly?
Most company would prefer to hire an experienced accountant in that field to take on the role rather than someone fresh but eager to learn, these chances are consider precious. For example, your experiences are in revenue, but you wanted to try on expenditure. How do you ask for a 10% increment for this position??? Unlike sales or administration, it is important for an accountant to acquire the knowledge and skills in all fields of accounting to progress and advance to a higher level, unless you are pretty satisfied with being an accountant in just one field for the rest of your working life.

Accounting is a very boring job, so most of the accountant has a short life span with the portfolio. To stay enthusiastic in this life, learning never stops. Once you master the most of the necessary skills, the offer will come knocking on your door non stop. So never ask a learning accountant or auditor why they are willing to trade a new position for a lower pay and please don’t call them silly. Who knows, they might be the next CFO in your company.

A HeCtIc ThURsDaY!

I knew something wasn’t very right this morning…I had a bad premonition about the day when I woke up in sweat, brushes my teeth halfway when the toilet was intercepted by my sis, choose the only pair of socks that has holes on both side, sweating all the way to the MRT station and missing my transit train to Changi Airport.
Days like this normally goes wrong everywhere….anyway the only cure is to stay as positive and cheerful about anything that comes along.

In office, eliminating my holiday mood finally, im overloaded with work. For the first time I am extracting and producing the financial reports myself where Val is busy with her 6/6 report and A stuck with the terrible powerpoint slides and thank god I wasn’t involve in amending the slides…escaped hell once!

I was so engrossed and involved that I didn’t want to go all the way to T1 to bid Lala farewell. But I am glad I went, she mentioned that I will get a lot more souvenirs compared to others! HAHA…*A praise for her BF…very friendly and sociable…unlike their 2 weird friend who ponders over my offer to snap a pictures for them like I am asking for a tips to service them.

Further this afternoon when I thought that I can finally settle down to clear my work; Ms Ho started her war with the rev aunties over the printer cartridges. I cannot believe that just this tiny issue can cause a huge disturbance here and there. Clear their stupid issue all the way till 6pm to rush to Bugis to meet up with Petty, Wen and Jotay…
Best part, all of them are so late! At least, I was there with a motive for my shopping and I did. It was a fruitful trip for me (all hidden in my big bag). Well, I didn’t get anything for you PETTY, so don laugh so soon!!! Haha….
As much as I would love to elaborate here on this meet up, I can’t. It’s a public blog and I don wish to offend anyone…haha…but those who should know, should know what we have been discussing…and petty please don comment on my lousy English. It is much better compared to some bimbo blog I saw the other day.

“I buy shoes today. So happy.
I ate this nice lunch. Kel owes me thing
I am happy today”

Maybe I should write it this way. Sounds more interesting!

PS* congrats Lainey for winning the Tickets! At leat a little something to brighten up your day!!!

The Way of Life!

You know I really hate this thing about consoling others, hate providing advice, hate meddling into other people’s business or even tried pretending to be so nice out of a sudden. The reason was that I feel that humans are all so weird.
When someone does something for you intentionally, you will never learn the word “appreciate”. This happens when one gets too close to the other and only close enough to even forget about “courtesy”, “gratefulness”, “politeness”.

So if it is really so unappreciative about all these tiny stuff provided, then you really got to learn to be independent. Learn to grow up. Learn to accept the harsh truth. Learn to prove things right!

Respect is earned, not given by someone out of kindness or sympathy. If you think that one day being too friendly or too easy with a person resulted in some “push over”, then stop. Confiscate all these privileges to make them understand that you are the one who make the choice. Not them. Never leave your life and destiny in the hands of others. Advice provided is for you to evaluate, not to follow so the decision still lies with you.

So my dear friend in “general”! Learn to answer for your behaviour and be appreciative to things that happen around you. And you will be happy. Definitely happy about things!

*This post is to all except my best friend!

"S" Club roller-blading session at east coast

Bright sunday morning, i waited at the bus stop for that very "incorrigible" alex to leave his house! Guess what, i waited like 1 hour at the bus stop enjoying the natural sauna effect under the hot sun and not to mention i skipped the chance of having breakfast at home.

The last roller-blade session was with Alex and Hairy...and that was like 3years back. I can't believed my supreme skills after so long, it was a long journey where we started from one corner of east coast to the other corner! It took me almost 3hrs to finally complete the journey. I was the slowest among them, but don't think im the lousiest!

It was really fun after my last outing with these fellows. We enjoyed all the crappy session and of course, i tried chasing them and all thanks to hanyi always behind me, watching my back or watching me fall on my last 200 metres back. Haha....and yes i was always watching their back too!!!! Got proof k!

I was really weak by then. Can feel my leg getting wobby and harder to stand again...Overall, we got our in perfect suntan as well as a few bumps on our leg and ass.

Changing skates

My skates

Thats all for the pics...i needed more concentration as we moved so....no more pics liao if not i cant see their back at all.

We went for a swim immediately after the session at bedok swimming complex, it was such a humid day and we decided to not bath or anything and hop into the car to head straight for a nice soaking session...
Had our lunch around 4pm at bedok which end the activities for the day....
I went over to my sis's place for dinner there after...

Look at poppy...aiming at me thinking about how to get back at me!!!!
Really look like some mischeivious kids.
End of the day, super exhausted with sun burn on my face and neck. On my next trip, i will bring either sun block or sun tan!!! Got to make a choice!
Petty wanted to jio me for a sun balding session with her as usual not really meant what she speaks style, even if she is truthfully into roller blade, i better consider properly...
our conversation(ammended slightly)
ME: Painful siah...my backside...
Petty: Why you keep falling?? (Trying to start the conversation)
ME: I skate from one corner to another....so tired
Petty: Ok wat, not very long, i always do that! (Sibei Haolian tone)
ME: I uses my handguard to brake on slopes...
Petty: Handguard???? (Eyes big wide)
Petty: U fall to brake??? wahahaha(laugh so evilish)
ME: I cant stand after 2hrs of skating....
Petty: I also not very good, will wobble at times(pretend to make me believe)
Look at the above, its 70% of show off, 30% trying to be humble with ill intention...I don wish to give her a chance to laugh me throughout the whole journey!!! How can i "lose face" infront of her??? i am always winning in a bickering session with her right? But i really want to challenge her...who knows i might win...and even for just once, i can laughhhhhhhh non stop!!!! hahahahahah (evil grin)

Fun-filled October! (re edit)

Despite Singapore has entered into recession, i doubt it has yet affected many. I had my first KTV session yesterday with my colleagues. CARC installed its first system, something equivalent to Kbox and we were the first to go for the system testing.

All thanks to Mok for the invitation! An unclear shot of him...

It was really fun and of course, out of 10 songs i sang, somehow 4 were intended to help lighten up the atmosphere, 4 were really out of pitch and tone, 2 were really trying my best to finish it. Okay ignore me, the session was quite enjoyable! re edited with pics

Oh yah, not forgetting recently winnie came back in contact after 2 years. Its going to be another meet up session soon with these old poly year 3 classmates.

Of course, this month is a work up month for me as well. Mon, Wed, Fri will be GYM day, Sat and Sun are meant for some other sports. Apart from swimming, will be joining Alex's group of friends for roller blading tomorrow. Hopefully, i won't make a fool of myself. For the past one month, i have managed to shed off the tiny belly, its really time to start gaining on mass.
Eating my normal 3 meals a day and some extra meals.

Jeremy invited me for a yacth fishing as well, which i am considering. If i can get some great plans coming that week, would fore go this fishing trip. Not really into fishing and considering what i should do with all those fishes that i am going to catch? But the yacth ride seems to be quite tempting!

Oh ya, how can i forget about my poly year 1 meet up session and that idiotic petty's birthday gift. Sian....its really recession now and how i wish i can save up on her this gift! =P
