My Crystal Red Shrimp Berried!!!!

Recently, I got a total 6 pieces of Crystal red shrimps
For those who don't understand what they are, let me do a intro on them.
Sometimes back, a few years ago, there was a craze for these shrimps. I believe it started from Japan with the first type of such shrimps finally breed successfully out of the many peices.

Back then, a piece like this could fetch a heaven price. I am not talking about few hundreds dollar here...but thousands for just one shrimp.

However, with more and more Enthusiasm hobbyist, the variation and genes of these shrimps started to improve. A grading system started ranging from SSS to C....Price also become more affordable and rearing them seems easy.

However these shrimps most suited in temperature around 25 degrees celsius and PH level 5-6.5 and because of these, many hobbyist started to uses chillers for their tank to keep the temperature down.

Right now, the local breed CRS grade "C" which is the lowest grade is able to survive in a temperature of 28-29 degrees celsius(normal tank temp). However breeding of these fellow never happened at this temperature to what i understand.

Okay, i show some pictures ranging from top grade to the lowest to show the difference....and a disclaimer, these pictures does not belong to me.

The grading of CRS is base on the thickness of the white band on the shrimps.

Snow white, no sign of any redness

A flower Mosura SSS

SS grade

A "B" grade CRS

"C" grade CRS

A Black Diamond Shrimp SS grade(CRS is red, however it does throw out Black color as well, grading will be the same as CRS)

ANd here is my mini tank in the office with no filter but making use of the 24hr aircon which kept my tank around 23 degrees with 4 "C" grade CRS...today, i notice one of the female is pregnant....carrying a whole lots of shrimps....Haha..will update a picture soon...going to snap some pics out of them tomorrow...by the way, i just set up a new small tank which is larger than this...hope it will benefit the babies...
