很"狽"的一天

Today was a terrible day for me. Think the worse ever luck I had.
It was supposed to be a well planned adventurous trip to the Soong Sister House for some HDR shots(believed to be haunted), however everything just seems to go wrong.

When I met victor, I thought he would knew where the place was but end up both of us are clueless about the location and spent our time circling around grange road for almost 3 hours looking for this abandoned house. We even nearly booked a cab to recky around the whole grange road.

Guess what? The place has already been demolished and it was a construction site that we have repeatedly circled around.

I am unsure what is happening to me today, my mind seem to be in some drifted away land, there was this cab that came really near me which I believed not less than 10cm before it will fly me off the road. With a travelling speed of 50km/hr, the thought that my left leg going to be badly crushed sent a chill down my spine.

I knew it was going to be foul for me after 2 hours, and since victor was quite persistent not to waste the effort, we continued walking. My protective lens cap dropped off and the best part, into a drain with lots of mud and grass…I tried my best searching for it to no avail. I guess it was fated!

Not to mention it was lost at a distance so near to some minister’s villa that I had to give up searching before the guhkars approach me to shoo me away because I was somewhere around the perimeter set.

And finally, to dampen me further, it started raining. Now, the thought of purchasing a “should not have lost” protective cap is really putting me down. Nonetheless, maybe this is what some call破財消災。

Now I really feel like go 吃大便!! ARGGHHH!!!

Redondo Love Letters

Recently, there has been a craze over this snack in office. First introduced by Ah Peng and Ah Yuan who unselfishly treated everyone in office and further surprised us with the relatively affordable price at $3/+. (which i doubt is even enough to cover the packaging)
there seems to be quite a few flavour and we couldn't believe that the price.

Gene offered to help me get a tin and i chose the Cappucino flavour. Its really nice, i brought it home and mum was helping herself to it.

A disclaimer: It's not an advertisement or endorsement for the product so if it happens to top the list from AVA...please dont come after me for claims...

I caught the rainbow finally!!!

Was on my way home when i spotted this complete rainbow at the bus stop.
I was realy surprise i could see it from my block...although not a fully complete rainbow..anyway since i don't have any wide angle lens to capture a full rainbow, this is good enough!!!

This apple is something i intended to capture as my blog's header picture, but i chose another photo instead, which is sitting right on top.

What's there to worry?

So happened that I read the papers this morning and I saw a column on the “Busy life style of Singaporeans”.
When we are young, we yearned to grow up fast. While we were busy with our studies, we hoped that we could join the workforce fast. Working non stop day and night just hoping we could get promoted and fetched the kind of salary we always expect. Some get married along the way and they hoped their children could grow up fast enough for them to start enjoying life. Somehow in desperations, those who can’t seem to find a partner saw the world came crashing down on them.

To be frank, are all these perception and pace of life a result of the place, the country we live in?
No doubt, compared to neighboring countries and some other part of the world, I do love Singapore for its strong social responsibility and safe environment.

However, as we progress, in exchange for the advancement of the nation, we sacrificed memories and places. We see construction works on the roads, building & land site almost everyday. Of course, it is a good thing that we get to live in a nicer, cleaner and cozier environment compared to those old flats. But all these came with a price.
It is the same as recruiting foreign talent into Singapore. In recent years, we noticed the amount of foreign workers in Singapore has increased. In the next few years, can we differentiate ourselves as a citizen of the country?

What about imagining the future that the only history reference made available to our descendents will only be those heritage preserved areas, pictures and artifacts?
We construct new places like Marina Barage, Hort Park as a form of getaway from city life style. We build International Resort as a form of entertainment. To me, all these are man-made and non natural.
Soon enough, it would be more of a country we construct to live in. Will we forget how Singapore looks like?

Maybe this is one good reason to take up photography, capture more picture of the Singapore now as a form of memories for the future.

How i Spend my Last Weekend

I wanted to keep this weekend super fun-filled as the following week; I am having my mob standby. So basically, i went sun bathing, swimming and roller blading.
Thank god i have got this bunch of friends, Alex, yy and hanyi was really fun, despite so many years I have known them, they still seem to belong to the carefree group.
Well maybe if you have a lower expectation in life, things will seem easy and satisfying for you.

I did some solo photographing over the weekend. The subject this time was Fu Hai Temple at Geylang East. Didn't want to travel too far with the camera and since i am going for a swim there, might as well do some photography.

The last visit to this temple was when my dad passed away. Most of the ceremonies and offerings were made in this temple. Back then, this temple was still in the midst of constructing, now its fully structured.
If you are on the train, you might catch a glimpse of it. Its between paya lebar and aljunied station.

With many housing estates nearby, its kind of difficult to geta nice shot of the temple without distractions.

The main door, residing within was the "Thousand hand Goddess"

The entrance deities (both left and right)

This temple uses alot of stone carvings.

The pagoda with many buddha statute within. The aircon wasn't switch on when i entered. About 5 storeys tall.

Another view of the temple when i left. The skies was gloomy.

Okay this Hindu temple was just beside. Very rich in color and well maintained. They were preparing for some ceremonies when i was there.

Enjoy the pics...its another week before i touches my camera....work work work..

KTV with the SCS group

I decided to name this clique of friends as the SCS group aka Super Clueless Sotongs.
Firstly, it was decided to meet up on Friday for a KTV session at PartyWorld Liang court. Problem is, out of the 4, it seems like I am the only person who knows how to move around at Clarke quay.
Secondly, this place is a total out of place for all 4 of us, north south, east and west, its still inconvenient to all of us. Thirdly, we are going just for the KTV where there are so many others PartyWorld at locations that are much more convenient. Aiyo, its really clueless why we choose this place.

Hey hey but we enjoyed ourselves that night!

The most civilized bunch of ktv peeps that i have came across. 1 decided not to sing but willing to pay for her share, everyone took their time in selecting songs and the song play list for the first hour was always less than 5 songs. If you have ever went KTV with me before, you should have guessed how considerate they were as I was singing more than everyone else.

Here's a pic of the cozy room
The room

Super sweet drinks
The drinks

Basically no one was paying attention when one was singing…distraction all over the place. Everyone sang to themselves…
The trio

I didn’t bring my DSLR that night, but brought my fun compact out…
Me having fun with camera

When they don pay attention to me...as usual..me and my candid...

Looking forward to the next outing..

Course at Park Royal Scotts

It all started with Cav unable to attend the course and required a replacement on his behalf. This took him almost an hour to finally convince or rather force Ms Ho to go in his place. Seriously, the first and last person that you think of in directing this kind of task, is really Ms Ho. First you get all the “TSK TSK TSK”, followed by lots of sabotage from her, digging all your nonsense up and finally stomped off before anyone can say bye.

None-the-less, not sure what really happened, Ms Ho had a 360 degree attitude change after she attended the course. As I was supposed to attend today’s session, I believed she must have prayed hard that I will somehow not able to go. Nah, too bad..haha

Ok I managed to snap some pics with my digi cam...

The morning at orchard road...basically, everyone is still unawake.

I believed i was the first to reach...
The lobby was small compared to other hotels but seriously, its very classy. Like those Catholic Church kind of interior design.

And guess where am i now???

The toilet!!!! The toilet was adopting the gothic style of design..Like Dracula's toilet...
Dark, Black and gives a chill in your spine when you uses it. I like the design and added a little effect to the photo.

Okay, lets go back to the subject. Basically, the snacks and drinks were good. Service was excellent, Buffet Lunch was even better. As for the lecture, I think its not that bad. The class was asking too many questions and some were irrelevant. I couldn’t understand why N***a was nodding her head most of the time and asked some questions that is none of her business. I really doubt she will understand all these when she couldn’t even interpret some really brief instructions over some emails guidelines.

Well, of course I was hopping that the class would end early but seems like everyone enjoyed it so much and kept on and on asking more questions.
At least, I still managed to get an early release and browse through orchard. Poor Sc, she lost her Handphone today, someone pick up her handphone and decided to keep it. So let’s just curse this inconsiderate and dishonest thief and hope one day she will lose something 10x precious than what she has stole.

The Beginning of Hort Park...

A pre arranged visit to HortPark for an early tracking session with my family, and our first stop was to SIMs Drive market to start absorbing carbohydrates.

However, the weather this morning wasn’t as expected. It was hot, humid and hazy. Basically, we sweat even when we are under shelter.

I am still not quite use to do candid shots with my new lens but picking up as it goes….

Keep Walking....

My first trip down Funan and considering my 2nd trip for my DSLR..
While waiting for Ben to pass me the lens, 50mm f1.8 II...
(and if you are wondering why would i get another lens and what its meant for..shall show you at the end....), i took a pic of the Central Fire Station which has become a museum.

I was quite glad..i have gotten a real bargain for my hunt today and a little gift for myself.
So lets begin my trail and just keep walking through the photos...
