Sausages way too much...

Went a 2nd time to Waruku Pasta but this time it was at Hereen. It was meant to be a belated celebration for Xin. I chose this dish that I saw on my first trip there.
Pretty decent for $8.95, very oily and very filling…I will never order it again.

Finally, Spending on ME!

Unsatisfaction spending derives from unjust treatment to individual's expenses.
In short, it means that you might have spend alot but none of those are really spend on yourself. Or in another word, we cant physically feel the products which resulted in emotionally unbalance.

So i decided that amidst the tight budget i am facing this month...i should really buy something for myself. At least spend on something which i might need.

In my mind....
" I need a new wallet...=>upgrade to a Mont blanc.
I need a new old school shoes to match my dark coloured jeans =>Converse limited edition.
I need a new casual bag...=>Porter.
I need a pair of slim jeans...=>Levi's.
I need 2 new shirts for occasions...=> G2k black label.
I need casual Polo Tshirt...=> Levi's, Converse, Everlast, Giodarno."

In conclusion, the more i think, the list keep lengthening in my mind.

Past few days, i have been checking out things. Mont Blanc doesnt seems to have the card holder design which i am looking for and the Wallet seems a little too big for me to carry. (Eliminate item 1)
Converse doesn't have the dark coloured pair of old school boys design which i saw in Hongkong. Not even the Special shop at Cineleisure carries any similar pair. (Eliminate item 2)
I went to Porter on Saturday along the way to taka for a class gathering. Although, there was a 9% discount, i couldnt find something similar which alex is carrying! (Eliminate item 3)

Haha...since the choice has been stream line to just a few, it seems much easier to spend within the budget i allocated for my own September month end shopping spree...

I went sun bathing in the morning and make an early arrival at vivo....
While waiting for S & C's arrival this afternoon at Vivo and i had the extra bit of time to do my own quiet shopping....i went to check out the shops...

Some must get for myself...
Item 1) Facial mask...at watson, i got these using my credits from the Everyday POSB card.
Don underestimate these cheap mask...but they are damn good (Own Opinion)

Item 2) I went past Everlast and surprisingly this Polo T which i had been aiming since my last outing with Fion Haze etc....it was on a 30% discount. The sales was pretty friendly....i actually picked another new arrival item with no discount but she told me that somewhere in dec, there would be another promo....so i put that back.

I went further to a few other stores and finally settle down at PageOne since S & C are going to be further late. One bad habit about girls...they really need to hire a dedicated PA to keep track of their timing and plan their schedule...

Item 3)Anyway, i was self reading this book which kept me going. I wrapped it up before meeting them..Hell it was very heavy which add additional loads to my heavy bag.

In all, i enjoyed my shopping today....at least i got things for myself! And so it inspires me to meet less and gather less but spend more on myself...

Erm...dear friends...if we were to meet, instead of feasting horribly and make my belly off program into belly more program, why not we meet for shopping???

Smart or Stupid?

While I was on my journey to work, I read an interesting article that sends me in my thoughts aka 思考..

The article tells this story about this boy whom everyone called the dim-witted boy.
Through words of mouth, everyone came to know that if you were to give him a choice between a 50 cents or a $1 coin, he would choose the 50 cents coin.

Everyone find him amusing and as and when whoever needs some sort of entertainment, they would ask this boy over and tried the same offer over and over again and make fun out of him.

Till one day, a guy finally walks over to this boy and asked him,
“Do you not know the value of the 2 coins? Why do you kept choosing the 50cents coin?”

The boy replied “Yes I do know the value of the 2 coins but if I were to choose the $1 coin, people won’t be offering me the choice again.”

In the above case, who would have thought that the smartest of all were the boy whom they called the dim witted one.

At times, we should reflect on ourselves if we are really that smart as we thought we were.

Craps or Crabs???

Of course, definitely, if i were to choose...Crabs....

Mum has this craving and went down to NTUC to grab 6 crabs.
It has been so long since we are having crabs for dinner at home.

Looks nice and trust me, it tastes much better than those hawkers.

One good point about dining home, you can have them as messy as you like.

A good meal always comes with a price, my mum had a pinch from one of this fellow!!!

I am sooooo Mean but Everyone still being soooo Kind

I look like a hamster this week if you are asking me. For once i really feel like strangling lala for always calling me a hamster and finally looking like one! A little consoling, a handsome hamster with pouchy cheeks, all thanks to the pain at the back of my jaws.

Haha, despite having a bad ulcer, i am still being ridicuously mean to everyone...is it in my blood?
I just feel like blogging today to get my mind off things since it is a Friday. Hmm..then what should be the topic for today?
There are so many happenings event in the news lately. From Financial to Politics but i think i should just skip all these due to the fact that it had been largely reported all over the news...

Can't believe how fussy and sissy i am over a small ulcer which is extremely painful...nonetheless i was quite surprise to see how kind and generous my colleagues and family are by providing me all sort of cure.

First, Seow Ling actually offered me 2 herbal tea packets...(Expired in Sept which i only just knew how kind she was) which taste so much like...ermmm mud water...terrible stench.

Didn't cure me much but made me lost further appetites for my lunch. Haha...i did say thanks to her even thou i cleared her expired products. She is going to kill me if she read this post...

Next, after i gave Alvin 2 days of "black face" before he decided to render me some assistance..(it was all along on his desk)..This is pretty good, it will numbed the affected area but really stinks my mouth that i refused to talk to anyone.

Well the stubborn ulcer didnt really disappeared miraculously which forced me to use the most tradition method "SALT", erm i didnt have the guts to apply "Salt to the wound" directly..so its basically a mouth wash with salt.

When i am back home, my fridged was filled with all sorts of cooling fruits bought by my family to show their moral support!

Their support comes with a temptation....but hack-caring so much, i decided i should just have some revenge and feast on this wonderful Fried carrot cake! Revenge on me since that it hurts on every mouth i munched.

Overall, being mean and nasty at times does not really make you an enemy to others. Attitude plays a part, Words played another...but i believe its the character and behaviour that really matters....I think i might have touched the hearts of my friends with my nice and kind inner self that no matter how mean i am....they will never ignore me. Haha!!!! (P.S petty....rite?)

I am just getting all over and about myself again! Oh Gosh...

Ulcers that kills

Let me count, could this be an once a year thing? If i am correct, the last ulcer i had was last year somewhere june....it has been so long since i developed another ulcer and i really lost all appetite over it...Okay no more whinning over this.

I will just take it as dieting as if i really need one.

Lately, i have been working out alot and trying to stay healthy. More exercising and less food...
somehow the progress seems very slow.

Gene suggested maybe we should take up Muay Thai but the commitment makes it sounds like another RT session for me. Somehow i feel i should go, i still havent got use to no schools life style.

Everything seems to be moving fast by the day yet slow by the month. Its going to be another 3 more months to reach Decemeber.

Quote of the day
Kwon Sang Woo (Cruel Love) "Being kind to others doesn't reap kindness from others but pain to yourself"

Lei Garden

I scheduled the family studio shoot for my graduation today.
However, i do not have any pictures to post here. Nonetheless, i will update it when i get them=) hopefully it is nice.

After the photo shoot session, we decided to have a nice Dim Sum lunch at Lei garden. It was a famous hongkong restaurant at Orchard area. They should have 2 branches, one at CHIJMES, the other one is at Orchard Shopping Centre.

Unsure if CHIJMES serves the same menu as i have only been to the one at Orchard Shopping Centre. Do call them to check before heading down if you are interested.
We were immediately greeted by the friendly captain when the lift opened. The ambience, environment of the place was good. Wonder if its because of the timing we went, i felt the place was posh.

Food wise, the display, outlook of the dim sum plays a part..pardon my poor photography skills as i did not use any flash for all the pictures resulting some under exposure. The waitress and waiter was very patient with me as well and indeed cooperative in allowing me to shoot the dishes one by one as if i was some sort of reporter. Haha, maybe they thought i was.

Taste wise, very similar to what i had in Hongkong. The only difference, the size and quantity. Especially this dish, its not easily found in singapore's dim sum restaurant but a common dish in HKG dim sum restaurant.

(May refer to here http://jackson-myphilosophy.blogspot.com/2008/04/hongkong-part-2-dim-sum-night-mares.html for some resemblance)

Overall, basing on the service as well as the food and taste, i will give a rating of 8/10...Price wise, it is classy....but still affordable...

Mid Autumn Festival => Bishan

A little background on...The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festivity for both the Han and minority nationalities. The custom of worshipping the moon can be traced back as far as the ancient Xia and Shang Dynasties. In the Zhou Dynasty, people hold ceremonies to greet winter and worship the moon whenever the Mid-Autumn Festival sets in. This follows through the different dynasty. Although each dynasty hold s a different celebration, the meaning of it remains the same.

However, the custom of playing under the moon is not so popular as it used to be nowadays, but it is not less popular to enjoy the bright silver moon. Whenever the festival sets in, people will look up at the full silver moon, drinking wine to celebrate their happy life or thinking of their relatives and friends far from home, and extending all of their best wishes to them.

Do you wonder why do alot of people named this day as the mooncake festival as well?
Well, There is this story about the moon-cake. during the Yuan dynasty. China was ruled by the Mongolian people. Leaders from the preceding Sung dynasty were unhappy at submitting to the foreign rule, and set how to coordinate the rebellion without being discovered. The leaders of the rebellion, knowing that the Moon Festival was drawing near, ordered the making of special cakes. Backed into each moon caked was a message with the outline of the attack. On the night of the Moon Festival, the rebels successfully attached and overthrew the government. Today, moon cakes are eaten to commemorate this legend and was called the Moon Cake

As mentioned last week, we had our mid autumn Fest gathering at my 5th uncle place.
Supposingly, it was meant to be a pot luck session but only mum and the host prepared the food...
Well, it has been a norm that food is a must in every gathering...especially ours.

Mum prepared her famous sinful "Braised Pork"

And the host prepared quite a few other dishes and "Popiah" was the main highlight of the night.
My 5th Aunty

The pot of vegetables aka main ingredient for Popiah

Finger food for the kids...

The making of Popiah...everyone started to get their hands dirty.

Feasting of the mooncakes and drinking tea with a laughing session right after dinner.

F1 :: Changi Airport

The simulation F1 driving is now at terminal 2.
Had my buddy Jos to test drive the simulation.
He mentioned that it was fun and a good experience.

The mini version of the F1 racing course with a tamiya lookalike model...however, it seems to be faulty.

So if you are travelling within these days...remember to pop by Terminal 2, transit just infront of O leary sports cafe

Paranoid Madam Thung

Before i start on the topic, let me show this box of innocent mooncake...

From Harbour City Restaurant, they said that it is using the famous mao shan wang durian as it's filling so i reckon it should be rather pricy.

Taste wise, ermm sad to say..it isn't really up to expectations

We had one serving and next day, it was gone from our fridge. Why?
Read the below...

Madam Thung after so many years, finally decide to go for her health check...and immediately after her first check up (before she gotten her report), she gave away all the mooncakes...simply for health reasons...

Today, she phoned all of us and kept us in an alarming state saying how bad the report was...about possible chance of getting cancer..liver issues....

When we further examine the report at home, we found that it was all exagerating and speculating....haha...
Anyway its a good thing that nothing much happen...but i believe from today onwards, she will be more cautious about her eating habits. And this new topic will last her 2 weeks on the phone again! =P
