Step up...Finding the Compass
I had a breakfast session with my soon to be "ex boss" this morning. Both me and shuyu was wondering what the topic would be during the session...but it all came down to some sharing and counselling session. Not that we needed one but the impact of her leaving did cause some disturbance in us.
Come to think of it, this was our first breakfast with her throughout her 2 year stay here. We started talking about what we want to achieve in the next 5 years and slowly she guided us thru the topic of finding our own compass in life. Frankly, i have never sit down to think about this topic. Somehow or rather, i get too comfortable at my workplace. With progression, with exposure...i dont really drill my thoughts on what is the end result that i would like to achieve. Probably i need to focus on my goals and move towards it.
I really appreciate the effort and guidance that she is trying to share with me and seriously, she is a good mentor and a big mental supporter in my daily work.
Wishing her all the best in her next career.

Kinetic rain
Recently Airport introduced the first world kinetic sculpture called kinetic rain.
Each and every display rain ball is programmed to move into different sculpture and pattern on its own...
An OT during a saturday, so me and shu yu decided to check it out...It certainly draws alot of attention
At one point, all these kinetic balls will fall from the top and make it look like raining.
Do visit Terminal 1 departure hall to catch a glimpse of this new technology

The time of the year
Considering the amount of effort that i had placed in for the year, the returns that i reaped this year was great...i know i didnt really do much things that deserve these bonuses but it did motivate me to work harder next year...
I guess many are very curious about me staying for 6 years in this organisation...well..i always replied that as long as i can still learn from the job as well as finding satisfaction from it, i do not see the reasons for leaving this place.
Of course there could be a bigger better pool out there for me, but i feel that im still not ready...
I do not seek a higher salary for the same job outside the market..and if i ever had the intention to leave, that would be the next job or company is offering me a different level of work...and im ready to value add the company instead of joining them to learn from the job...
At my age, i should be well experience enough to take on any task...
That mentality would be the differentiation of career and a job...well no right or wrong but if you are just looking for a job..then probably the priority would be different...
Well..a sad news that came this week was the resignation of a very nice mentor i had. Probably the nature of the job scope doesnt suit her well here..but im wishing her all the best in her next job..
Despite with many coming and leaving..the sadness is still there....
