China Tour - Nanjing

If there is a place on this trip that we would have to sacrifice, i would strongly recommend Nanjing.
Not that i hate the place, but the impression wasn't very nice.
It was raining non stop and the sky was so gloomy when we reached Nanjing and of all places, we went to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial. I know that we should pay our respect for the victims. But the weather was dark and gloomy, the atmosphere and ambiance was solemn. The impression of the place was not v comfy.

Anyway, we arent suppose to take any pics there so i didnt.

After that visit, we went for our dinner. The streets of Nanjing is filled with lighting. Reddish mostly..which look abit like a red light district everywhere.

We were then guided to their local shopping area and Semir apparently is their local branded shop..something that is equivalent to Zara...but i felt the concept and look of it was more nearer to Bossini.

The next morning, they brought us to see Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. The first bridge to be built across the Yangtze River in Nanjing, China. It was completed in 1968 and is the first double-decker, double-track highway and railway bridge designed and constructed by the Chinese without outside engineering assistance.

After the withdrawal of Soviet experts following the Sino-Soviet Split, China was thought to be unable to build a bridge on such a scale by themselves, without outside support. The project was undertaken to prove that Chinese engineers were able to overcome this perceived lack of ability.
It's a gigantic masterpiece and includes a bus stop at the top of it, next to a museum. On the western side of the bridge, a new city is currently being developed.

It is 6,772 meters (22,212 ft) long and has a span of 160 m (525 ft)—it can take up to 15 minutes to cross during regular traffic periods.

Our next stop was the friendship store that sells jade...Mum got herself a $800 jade after a few dramatic conversations between the local guide and the sales.
The local guide and the sales explaining and teaching others about checking jade.
