Walking down the Peranakan Days Part 2

Most Peranakan retained their ancestory beliefs in Buddhism and Taoism. Worshipping of Ancestors are similar to the Chinese practiced.

The Nonyas of yester-years were known to be matriarchs of homes. Status is being viewed as important as their social standing of the Babas in society. Their strong well and assertiveness were infamous and has created movies like Little Nonya etc.

The amulet Peranakan wore. According to the guide, she mentioned that the rich Peranakan loves to wear these amulets for protection.

Today's Peranakan community still takes pride in their heritage but has already been lost over the generations. Hopefully, the younger generation of Peranakans would imbibe some of the rich culture.
