Weekend shots..

Im invited to Pam's wedding dinner tonight.

With the honour to be (fetched by Petty) and since nowhere else to ponder around till evening, i spend time to study my camera.I was reading through the user manual and discovered the many wonderful modes that this camera offered(initially i thought there isn't any).
There is also this in-built technology that will prompt the user that the focus is off...a red camera sign will blink on the LCD when you half press the shutter.
Mum insist that i take pics of her beautiful orchids...

Oh yes, i used the tripod for the first time to take this pic.
Trying it to make like those magazine shots...The lighting is concentrated at the center figurine!

Ermm not sure who bought me this gift as my bday present?? hmmm

Hohoho...a late Xmas Present!

Reasons for not blogging lately? Sick, busy, tired…

Seriously, I am already sick for a week and I don’t have the luxury of staying at home. Apart from that, there isn’t anything much that I would love to blog about either.

Well this entry definitely isn’t a whiny one all about how sick I am etc…
It’s about = = => I finally gotten my 1st compact camera. It has been a struggling thought of buying from reputable retailers or some sneaky outlets for the past few days.
Benefits of purchasing from sneaky outlets mentioned in the forum, fear of getting something inferior and con. In support of Calvin and also partly the availability of being able to service the purchase in instalments, I bought my Canon IXUS 870 IS at Best Denki($549).

Expensive right?? With further news that Lainey gotten her DSLR 1000D at a price very similar to mine, I nearly wanted to ask her to get me one as well so as to balance the cost.
$1100+ a DSLR and a compact camera…LOL…
Anyway I love my new camera and let’s just ignore the price and talk more about the functions and ability of it.
If you read about the reviews, it seems to be such a perfect camera, nice color however there is no perfection and to be frank, every camera has its good and bad points.
If you read most of the reviews, it seems to be such a perfect camera, nice colour, wide angle lens, latest DIGIC 4 technology, 3inch LCD screen, 4x optical zoom etc. Oh yah, the button is cool!!

Pics quoted off website(do note in europe, they call it SD880IS)

However there is no perfection and to be frank, every camera has its good and bad points. Some things to note about this camera, it does not have an optical view finder, you have to rely on the LCD screen for shots.

This is perfectly fine for me as it looks weird to use the optical view finder on compact cameras. The camera does not have those build in mode like portrait, landscape etc and if you are comparing to its earlier version, this camera isn’t really meant for those clueless people that really point and shoot.

Well, looking from 2 different perspective, it offers you a chance to learn more about aperture, white balance, ISO, etc…you can do a lot more on this small little camera.
Well of course, its bulky compared to others but Canon is considered the best in the high end camera's section and if you compare between similar brands, its definitely worth to pay a slight premium for this camera.

Of course, this is not a camera review site, so i am not going to write some 2 pages essay on a camera.

Overall, I am in love with this camera!! I did a little testing when i reached home today.

The freebies i have gotten. There are more not shown here =)

Close up Shots of My Mum's beautiful Orchids

Playing with the colouration. It offers you the choice to tune the white balance you prefer.

Trying its wide angle lens as well as its shutter speed. Both pics were taken at the same timing 7pm. The Difference in the brightness.
Will go for more testing tomorrow especially on its wide angle lens. One day if i decide to get a DSLR, this compact camera definitely won't lose its status! LOVE IT!!!

Touched by a Movie

It’s been so long since I last caught a movie that stirs the emotional side of me. I am a big fan of Japanese made films and frankly speaking, although their style of acting always seems the same(slow, unrealistic scenario and character), we have to acknowledge that the Japanese does place in a lot of effort in presenting their work.

Movie title – Cyborg She/ My Girlfriend is a Cyborg.

Yes it was released somewhere June last year and sadly I didn’t have the chance to catch it. Recently, I came across this movie and convinced myself to give it an hour. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Instead, it was SUPERB.
Plot was simple, just the actor and actress, but the story flows well. It was touching, emotional stirring and unbelievably set you thinking. Half way through, I found myself in the position of the main character.
It was all about a man with much regrets manufactured a Cyborg that travels back to his past to meet him and help fulfil all his wishes. Along the way, love struck and it was a contradicting situation for love between real and unreal. (Cyborg vs Human)

At certain part of the movie, it might seem unreal and exaggerating but watch it light heartedly and remove all your questions on facts and situation and you would appreciate the rather sensational message that the director of the film is sending.

Till the ending, you will understand all the interrelations between the scenes.

I was reading the review and many mentioned that most guys was shedding tears near the ending. I did not but was equally touched.

Ayase Haruka did a fabulous job, her features was near perfection and does really looked Cyborg.
At a certain part, the frustration of the actor whom unknowingly had fallen for her was in a dilemma.

Well that’s only her and only if she was the Cyborg, what if it was an ugly cyborg like P****? All the above would never happened!!! HAHA

Try googling online and give it a chance!
And oh ya, the song was sang by MISIA! Never fail to be my favourite singer after so many years..enjoy the song...its playing on my blog!
