What so nice about being nice?

I am really sick and tired about the approachable n friendly side of me, having a nice character doesnt make things nice...

it always started off nicely...where everyone still has some reserve about things...and when everyone gets too close and cozy..this lame and crappy thing from me which is suppose to be my way of spreading joy back fires...

Being nice is no longer a plus plus in my character but is being taken for granted....
Stop being lame and entertaining makes people feel bored about me, am i abnormal?...im almost treated like a clown....im really sad to say this but its kind of sad...

In General, ask yourself this....

When * need joy, * ask me along...becos im fun...and when * have ur own world or * out of the blue decide that your mood is going to change....you ask me to step aside...and thanks for the pre empt warning..it sucks...it makes me look like a clown if none of you notice your way of expressing goodwill, warning....and ask urself..does this happen to other friends? Do u msn all 20 onlines to tell them u r not in ur best mood and pls keep away? Then Why only me?

And when * decide to give me a ring out...was it becos im the only last person you can think of? What about when u cant make it for the date...* apologize..but when i cant make it...it becomes a big fuzz??? N y is it all the time happening to me? haiz...

My comments no longer has a stand of its own..and words came out from me became a bother to others aka "lor soh" ...waste of time...and my dignity and respect cannot be found again...is this really the trade off between choosing to be well received, sociable vs gaining respect? If so....i rather choose to be more reserved and gain that little respect...

I think its time for me to think think n change.....

The Sichuan EarthQuake

I came across some articles and pics of the Sichuan Earth Quake today..and its really very saddening to see the poor victims suffered.

Just to share some stories and background of what happened to some who are still clueless what happened.

An earthquake magnitude of 8.0 struck Sichuan province of China on May 12, 2008. The earthquake released more energy than 500 atomic bombs, 30 times more than the Kobe earthquake in Japan, 1995. By May 19, more than 32,000 confirmed dead and more than 20,000 still missing and more than 4.7 million houses collapsed or heavily damaged.





Millions of people lost their homes..devastated

Lost their belongings, lost their familes....yet there was no complaint...just everyone helping each other...



Within hours of the disaster, help came...


Chen Guangbiao, owner of a big construction company started transporting 60 construction machineries and led 120 volunteer to rescue. They arrived at the disaster area 24 hours later, almost the same time as Army Engineering Corp.



Traffic jam not by people who is fleeing the after shocks but by volunteers, led by 1000 taxi drivers came from Chengdu to rescue.

People started to donate blood to help those injured, within 24 hours the blood bank ran out of places for storage.




Medical Help




Wen Jia Bao, 66, Chinese Prime Minister, boarded a plane 30 minutes after the earthquake, and arrived in disaster area in 2 hours. He has been the chief of the rescue operation since then working around the clock at the frontline with rescue workers.

It was reported that he pointed at a child trapped in the rubble and told him.."Don't be scare, ye ye(grandpa) is coming to get you out!"

Military help came...11,000 para troopers start boarding planes 2 hours after earthquake.






Despite heavy rain, high wind thick clouds...they jump from 20,000 foot to remote mountain which they do not even know if there will be a place for them to land.



Soldiers walked through mountain areas due to damaged roads carrying relief with them to the epicenter of the earthquake.



With rescue workers working round the clocks to try to save as many as possible.



This man by the name Xu Chao, 60, was a homeless vagrant, he saw the news and went to donate 5 yuan in the morning. He said people in the disaster area were worse off than him because their lives were threatened. He came back in the afternoon, donated another 100 Yuan. He explained that all he had were pennies and dimes, and he didnt want to waste volunteer workers' time to count them, so he went to the bank to have it change into one big bill.



Song Xin ying, 3, pulled out from rubbleafter buried for 2 days. She was in critical condition and lost a leg but survived. her parents hold each other's hands and shoulders face to face to make an arch to shield her from the falling building. Both died.





A 5 year old boy was rescued after being buried for 24 hours. His left hand was broken, but he smiled and saluted to his rescuers. His smile made everybody cry.





Yuan Wentin, 26, first grade teacher. When earthquake struck, she rushed to carry her stunned students from classroom on the 3rd floor to the ground. She managed to pull out most of her students, but the building collapsed when she was trying to pull out the last few. At the last moment, she even use her body to shield the students from falling concrete. Many teachers did the same as well.

This baby survived after buried over 24 hours, miraculously. He is about 3 months old and his mother kneeled down pinned her head and hands on the ground to shielded him from the falling concrete, and milked him. His mother did not make it out. A rescue worker found his mum's cell phone in his wrapper. It texted message left by his mother: "Dear Child, if you survive, please remember, Mom loves you forever...."




Rescuers exhausted after working round the clocks searching for survivors.



Tiananmen

A man applauds at the half mast as thousands gather at Tian'anmen Square for 3 mintues of silence to show respect to the ten thousands of people killed. The China State Council ordered a 3 day national mourning, the first time ever for common people.

Mas Selamat's

I know this is not a new topic, but then with recent debates on whether Wong Kan Seng should take full responsibility for the terrorist escape, the topic revives...

and who says singaporean aren't least interested in Politics..ermmm 2nd thoughts, or was it just being gossipy???

Well, just like what most singaporean do, when they are undercover they will talk as loud as possible but once their identity is disclosed, they will look so innocent and deny everything about it....

well i am not complimenting on the DR XU of SDP, he is really a v v weird person thou....brings a tiny drama to our political environment that has the slightest impact but at least drawn all the hungry reporters out snatching for these tiny news that they can only find..and reporting full cover page on it.

Ok i got this off a forum and it is pretty funny....

(There are several simple reasons why many Singaporean employers are reluctant to give their maids a day off. You see, if the maid runs away, the government will fine the employer $5,000. If the maid commits a crime such as shoplifting, the government will fine the employer $5,000. If the maid is caught having sex with someone, the government will fine the employer $5,000. If the maid gets pregnant, the government will also fine the employer $5,000. If you didn't know any of the above, then either you do not employ a maid, or you didn't read the small print of the Manpower Ministry's work permit conditions. Many employers are afraid that if their maid has a day off and gets into trouble, the employer will not only have to solve the trouble, but also have to fork out $5,000 as a free gift to the government. Intuitively, this smacks of gross unfairness. The employer gets punished not for something he did, but for something that somebody else (the maid) did. Furthermore, once the maid leaves the employer's residence, the employer has no way of monitoring where the maid goes and what she does there.

We may draw a curious parallel with Mas Selamat's escape, and PM Lee's determined, if muddled, defence of Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng in Parliament. Mas Selamat ran away. But PM Lee said that Wong Kan Seng was not at fault and should not be punished in any way. The reason being that Wong Kan Seng personally did not do anything which allowed Mas Selamat to escape. Strangely, if your maid runs away, it IS your fault and you SHOULD be punished. Even if you did not personally do anything to let her run away (apart from giving her a day off). Similarly, if your maid becomes pregnant, it IS your fault and you SHOULD be punished. Even if you did not personally do anything to make her pregnant.

Oh well. What can I say? Maids are not terrorists. But then you are not Wong Kan Seng. So the rules remain stacked against you. Wong Kan Seng gets off lightly, but you won't. Even if his lapse has far greater, and graver, implications than yours.

Its Cheryl's Birthday

Its Cheryl's birthday today and we had a small celebration for her...

Surprisingly..the place we took the pics was at the lift lobby...outside the toilets...hah






Well guessed its a surprise for Cheryl and ermm..the only thing that seems imperfect was the bouquet of flowers...not very nice thou....i wont have chose that combination....oppsss...haha



The best part was the short trip to Dempsey..the atmosphere is nice..but maybe the mood isnt too rite...i was feeling tired..and the weather is melting me....yucks




Oh earlier this afternoon...the A>L>I>V>E session that we get our award for being a nice nice employee....
Me and the tai tai wanabe...carrying her priceless $$$ necklace that all focus was on her!







And the 2 of us went down to get Cheryl's flower(initially planning to pluck some behind us posturing for pics to avoid suspicion) ....but int he end...it was not choosen by us...nardine did the selections....haha....just to clarify my taste...ermm
